      Quantitative Research Intern Interview

      28 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Brevan Howard

      Interview

I had a disappointing interview experience with Brevan. The first round was supposed to be a standard HR screen, but the very first question I was asked was, “What’s your nationality?” It threw me off immediately — it felt irrelevant to the role and inappropriate as the opening question. I understand they might need this information for their process, but the way it was asked and the timing made the whole interaction feel unprofessional. The rest of the conversation felt off after that, and shortly afterward I received a rejection stating that I was “not interested in the company,” which was simply not true. The entire interaction left a bad impression and not what I’d expect from a firm of this size. Overall, not a great experience. I hope they review their interview practices.
