Standard first call with recruiter to assess alignment between the candidate and the org. Next round is a coding exercise over video conference. The interviewer was reasonably collaborative, but kept leaning over his screen to talk to other people while we were exchanging ideas, which was a bit distracting. I put in place a solution that worked for very simple inputs, but for more complicated ones it definitely needed more work. In the spirit of collaboration, I asked the interviewer how he would approach it, which caught him off-guard and was visibly surprised by the question lol ... after a few seconds went by, his answer was "I don't know...I think there could be many ways to approach this" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
