Interview
I applied for this position online. The recruiter was prompt in contacting me the next day. She scheduled the initial phone screen in the following week. After the phone screen, I was invited for the preliminary on-site a week later. Throughout this process, the recruiter did a good job of keeping me informed about the status of the interview process. I remember thinking that it was very professional of her to do so. At the on-site, I met with the hiring manager and a few other key stakeholders. While everything was positive and super-professional so far, things started to take a nose-dive with the discussion on compensation. The hiring manager casually asked me what my current compensation was. I respectfully declined to share that information citing privacy and confidentiality. I was asked to state my expectations, which I did. I asked for a compensation range which they didn't reveal. The HR recruiter first skipped her interview with me and then called me later that day to discuss how the interviews went. When I reached out to her, I started to talk to her about how the interviews went. She seemed impatient and didn't seem to be interested in what I had to say. Instead, her real goal was to ask me for some information. She interrupted me rudely by saying that she needed to know my current compensation without which they could not proceed any further. Again, I respectfully declined to share that private/confidential information and offered to discuss compensation around what I can do for Brocade. This is when the conversation took a complete nosedive with the recruiter totally losing it. She said that she was just in conversation with someone at a level much higher than me and even they did not speak to her like I did. I was respectful throughout - you cannot arm twist me to reveal my current compensation. She said it was a complete waste of the team's time to interview me. At this time, I mentioned that it was a waste of my time as well and that we should have had this conversation a lot earlier. At this time, she argued rudely and cheaply with me before hanging up on me with the threat that she would blacklist me! I was shocked. I'm an industry veteran with experience working for a number of companies across the country. I have never come across such a lousy and unprofessional recruiter. Be warned. If you have mojo to stand-up for yourself, then the recruiters at Brocade will subject you to such an experience.

Interview
1 talk witj manager, 4 rounds onsite with 1 round coding and 3 f2f interviews. One call from onsite engineer was postive and good. Local tech interviews are done well and veru dignified with good quality. The coding interview was on a laptop and was tough. Be prepared to negotiate and walk away from the interview if you dont like teh offer. The hr people are cheats and lie and give you less money and fool you.
