Applied online. Around late March. Ended up having a phone interview with the HR recruiter. They were rather unprofessional being late on the first attempt to call me, and then being extremely slow to respond. Eventually pulled it off to maybe a 10 minute call where they basically just confirmed I had a degree. Never asked me if I had any questions or anything. Odd, but okay.
I then had a talent coordinator who was the opposite and extremely professional and quick to respond. I had a 1:1 teams interview with a VP in the department. It went pretty good and was more of a conversation than an interview.
I was told a week or so after the 1:1 that they wanted me to interview in person. May 3rd I took 4 hrs of PTO to go in person. I had a panel of 3 engineers and another panel of operations and the same VP. Nothing out of the ordinary and even got a tour. Was told that if I got an offer elsewhere or anything to let them know and I should hear back within a week.
Week goes by and nothing. Contact the coordinator and he tells me they are still interviewing. Email 2 weeks later and they state that my HR recruiter will get back to me. Email the HR recruiter for an update to no response. Try again with the coordinator and no response.
Finally August 7th I get an automatic email stating I didn't get the position. I have no qualms with not getting a position, but when a candidate takes time off work multiple times and interviews in person I believe its a professional courtesy to at least reply and let them know you went with another candidate. Extremely unprofessional especially when you hear about how companies cant get anyone to work.
