      Okay so here is the deal: if you are a native French speaker you WILL NOT get the job unless you sound like a perfect Dutch speaker. If you have an accent of sorts when speaking? Forget it. The entirety of the presentation is done in Dutch. There is no French or English spoken at any time by the presenter. I applied via the website. Got a call from them asking a bunch of questions relating to what I knew about the airline, where I would like to go on holiday, etc. I then was asked if I could attend a recruitment session and could choose from 2 different ones. Then received an email confirming my choice, the date and location of the recruitment session. Upon arriving at the session you are herded into a meeting room by alphabetic order. Once seated, the presenter introduces himself and 2 people from HR. There is a brief PowerPoint about the company. He will be asking questions in general about the airline (how many planes, what kind of planes, how many crew, the names of the special planes they have, etc). Make sure you know as much as possible so you look like you know your stuff when he throws the question out to everyone. You will be asked to write your name down on a piece of paper in front of you. Inside the piece of paper, you will have to write your special "talent", i.e. loyal, positive, etc. Next, you will be asked to make an introduction about yourself. You will have to do this in 3 languages: French, Dutch, and English so make sure you can do this in all 3 pretty well. Questions asked are below. I suggest when you are doing these to start with your mother tongue, then weakest language, then your 2ND best one. The middle part is easier than the beginning and the end. The presenter will be looking at you and use a hand signal when he wants you to change. You do not decide yourself. The rest of this I will put in the question section as I am being cut off!

      De sollicitatieprocedure verliep in eerste instantie correct en professioneel, met een gesprek waarin open werd gesproken over mijn ervaring en motivatie. Tijdens dit gesprek werd echter expliciet twijfel geuit over mijn leervermogen, louter op basis van het feit dat ik geen formele studies heb gevolgd, ondanks een lange professionele loopbaan en relevante ervaring. De uiteindelijke afwijzing gebeurde via een Engelstalige standaardmail, zonder inhoudelijke verwijzing naar het gesprek of de besproken elementen. Dit stond in contrast met de feedback die tijdens het gesprek werd gegeven en kwam onpersoonlijk over. Toen ik hier nadien op een respectvolle en feitelijke manier naar informeerde, werd de focus verschoven van inhoudelijke feedback naar mijn “attitude” en “teamgeest”, wat voor mij aanvoelde als defensief en niet constructief. Er werd geen verdere concrete toelichting gegeven over de functie of mogelijke alternatieven. Mijn ervaring is dat kritische, maar correcte feedback vanuit de kandidaat weinig ruimte krijgt binnen deze procedure.
