Had a phone interview where I was unaware I was on the phone with 2 people. Only realized when they laughed at the answer I gave. Went in for an interview and immediately regretted doing so. It was the 2 managers and 2 staff members. I was waiting in the conference room when they were passing my resume out and one of the staff said, "Can you take out all the writing?". During the interview, they tested me verbally on tax and when I said I was detail oriented, they went to take out this handbook and told me to look for a specific percentage. They were all smiling as if on an inside joke and one said, "We don't want to be here forever now." After that, one of the staff wrote something down and slid it over to the manager to see, smirking. I understand that they were trying to showcase the company culture but it was not the right approach. They were not professional at all and didn't take the interview process seriously. Also, one of managers asked me a question and said to not give her a cookie cutter answer, but when it was my turn to ask them questions, all of them gave me cookie cutter answers. At the end, they all went out to "decide" if I can come back for another interview and apparently they "liked" me. They said they'll let me know when to come in again but they never reached out. Thankfully, I accepted another job offer shortly after.
The whole interview felt like I was going through hazing, goading me to fail, before I can be accepted. I hope this review was detail oriented enough.

Question 1
If your manager wants you to do something but you think another way is better, what would you do?
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at CFO Rick (San Francisco, CA) in Dec 2019
Interview
The owner of the company and a senior manager asked me general accounting and behavioral questions. They tried to make me feel like they had all of the answers and I was lucky to have the opportunity to learn from them. At the time, due to my inexperience with accounting, I assumed that they could teach me something useful about tax and accounting. Unfortunately, the owner and senior management had hardly any structure in place to train new employees.
