      Business Development Manager Interview

      1 Sept 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Shelton, CT
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CFS (Shelton, CT) in Aug 2013

      Interview

I phone-screened with the Office Manager. One week later, I had an in-person interview with Office Manager and Regional VP. I then had another phone screen with a male VP presumably to get a male's input on me as a potential hire. He asked me many of the same questions that I encountered on the initial phone screen and it had somewhat of a "groundhog's day" effect. Like I would come to see of some many of CFS' processes, they were very mechanical with little personalization. CFS uses many outdated tactics from the 1990's and hasn't embraced the use of digital media to position itself, its brand, employees, or services. If you google CFS you'll happen upon results for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and not Creative Financial Staffing. In fact, if someone were searching out CFS' services they wouldn't even find them on the 1st page of a google search. One of their VP's once said that websites aren't very important thereby betraying her lack of current business development knowledge which seems to have peaked sometime in 1998!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked about the metrics in my previous role, it was a sales role as well. They asked why I wanted to work for CFS? What had I heard about the company? Why was I drawn to recruiting? They also wanted me to elaborate on my previous positions in a great deal of depth. They also had me complete the PEAC Assessment, a personality quiz designed specifically for the recruiting field. I had some experience with psychometrics and this test wasn't designed nor administered by professionals. I would never again work for a company that relies on the PEAC Assessment as this indicates that the company is run by people who lack knowledge in the field of psychology and were easily sold on a foolish, unproven testing tool.

      Business Development Manager Interview

      19 Jan 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Tampa, FL
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CFS (Tampa, FL) in Dec 2017

      Interview

The hiring process started with an initial phone screening. I was then brought in to interview with the president of the company. After that I was brought in to interview with the branch manager. Because this was a brand new team in my office and I was unsure if I was really going to like cold calling all day they asked me if I would want to go to the Orlando office and shadow for half of a day to see if this is something that I would like.

      Business Development Manager Interview

      18 Nov 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at CFS

      Interview

Got a call from the recruiter to set up an interview with her the next day. Great conversation with her talking about my background and the expectations of the position. She told me I'd get a call from the area manager to set up an interview. Interviewed with the area manager then she offered to introduce me to the rest of the team. Sat one-on-one with the team members just to get to know them then talked to the area manager again. She asked me if I was interested in the position. I replied yes so she told me she'd make a decision in the next 24 hours. She called later that day with an offer. Every step of the process was professional and I was treated extremely well. As soon as I accepted the offer, I started receiving calls and emails welcoming me to the team.
