I applied online and got a call within a few days. Throughout this call I had to do a small interview about why i'd like to work for COS and where my fashion inspiration came from. Very generic stuff. So about 5 days later I had to attend an interview in-store with COS. This was in a group setting. There were 6 or 7 of us there and we introduced ourselves. We all got along extremely well and it felt like we had been friends for ages! Following on from that we had to do a styling exercise where we grabbed outfits from the floor and created a profile of someone around them. That went very smoothly for everyone. A group discussion concluded the interview. I contributed greatly to the topic in this although I told the managers at the end I hadn't had much knowledge of the situation. (It was based on if you worked with a friend in your job.) Next we all had to wait in their canteen while they reviewed our applications. I was the first to be called in and I was very surprised at how they conducted the process. Instead of judging people on their working skills and their adaptability in the role, they took apart every aspect of your personality in the interview. The interviewers were quite young and I got the impression they hadn't much experience with HR type business. I've worked successfully in luxury retail before and I was very disappointed with the outcome considering I was very friendly and I work well within retail. I also enjoy it. It seems to me they only wanted over confident, in-your-face, knowledgeable characters but then again, I could be wrong.
