Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions to demonstrate that I had on-site or trades experience.
I interviewed in the head office with the Recruitment Manager and Architecture Design Lead after applying online. I was asked to complete a Design Task prior to the interview and spent about 10mins discussing it. I also spent about an hour going through my portfolio and answering questions on prior experience. I felt the interview had a formal but friendly tone.
Unfortunately, I never received any communication from Cairn after my interview, despite following up several times. I find it tremendously disappointing that this organisation, with a dedicated recruitment team, do not have the courtesy to reach out by phone or email to say ‘Thanks for your time, but we’re proceeding with a different candidate’ - particularly given that I had spent time completing a design task for them. I hope this inconsiderate lack of professionalism is not representative of Cairn as a whole and how it operates, but it has been a very negative experience with the company for me.

Question 1
How flexible is your current employer with altering a design after it has already received planning permission?
Project director was beside me and a HR lady was on a large screen. It was casual. Not many very awkward questions. They brought me to meet the finishing manager on a separate date which was informative.
