Interview
Simple, and straightforward. They test you for relevant skills and a little on your character. At the library, it'll either be your customer service skills, or your hand-eye coordination/ability to follow instructions depending on where you apply.

Found the job posted online, submitted a resume and cover letter explaining interest for the job to the professor. Then had a one on one interview in their office. That was basically it.

I applied online and I was called in for an interview about a week later. It was a 30 minute interview and it was much more casual than I thought it would be. I was offered the job that same day.

I was hired during COVID and the interview took place virtually, I had to interview with five different people at the same time , but everyone was nice and it did not feel intimidating.
