Interview
Unprofessional Lack of Follow-Up
I submitted my resume through the company’s careers page and followed up with a phone call. The recruiter responded and scheduled a screening interview, which went very well. I was told my background aligned with their current needs. I then had a second interview with the hiring manager, who said I would be a great fit and that I’d hear back within a week about next steps.
After following up with the recruiter, I was reassured that I’d definitely receive an update—whether I was moving forward or not—by the end of the week. It’s now been nearly three weeks, and I’ve heard nothing.
I understand that recruiting for multiple roles can be time-consuming, but leaving candidates in the dark after such positive communication reflects poorly on the overall candidate experience. A simple follow-up would’ve gone a long way.
