Short summary - 3 interviews. Offer extended, offer retracted before my deadline.
Initial phone interview with team member in my timezone (2 man teams in each timezone).
Next is a technical interview via irc and ssh with two team members - straight forward broken server scenario, with team assistance when needed.
Last was a fit (phone) interview with 2 managers.
Notes:
Fully work from home, but with strict hours.
This team works a sun-following shift rotation, with 2 man teams in each zone, covering 3 focus areas (so 3 teams in each zone covering each area) - ops, web ops, and projects. Teams rotate through areas on a 3 month cycle.
Computer hardware is -not- provided by the company, you're expected to provide your own. A refresh bonus is given every 3 years (after 3 years) to help.
Internet access and phone expenses are not paid.
Medical/dental benefits are 100% covered for employee, but 0% covered for spouse. (coverage available out of pocket, of course)
Yearly bonuses are typically expected. 401k exists, but no matching.
Now the real killer:
They extended an offer to me with a 7 day expiration. 2 days into that window I got a notice from the e-sign system they use canceling the document signing.
7 days after the offer was extended they finally responded back to tell me that they'd decided to retract their offer.
