The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Canonical in Jul 2023
Interview
Canonical's hiring process is brilliant! I applied for 3 different roles as a Software Engineer and received three written interviews. About 40% of questions there were intersecting while the others were unique for each role. They told me that there were no time restrictions, so it took me about ten days to finish all my essays. Each one should be around 5000 words, as far as I know. So it was about 15000 words there, which took me about 5 evenings. I submitted all of them and received a link for a personality test, with "no strict timeframe" also. After completing the test, I received a rejection for one role the next day without any feedback. For two other positions, I was just ghosted and received rejection after two months for one of them.
Frankly speaking, this is a very mediocre interview experience :)
It's an extremely long process that includes standardized tests, take home assignments, and several rounds of interviews. It was at least 5 rounds long and you interview across different teams.
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Canonical (London, England)
Interview
They have a really long, tiring interview process. The first round was a written interview where I had to answer like 15 questions. Then a coding interview with 1 hour time that I could do anytime for 2 weeks. Then I had to take a personality test and they totally ghosted me.
The first round is a bunch of questions like 30 or so where you have to describe your expierence, personal and academical information. Then there is a asynch technical interview and a psychology test.
