Applied online. The Spokane office was opened towards the end of 2016 and they were posting openings on LinkedIn, Glassdoor and other sites. About a week after applying, the recruiter in Monterey CA called me and set up an initial call. After the initial call, she said she would get back to me and called back a few days later to schedule a call with the hiring manager. I had a call with the hiring manager and two developers for about an hour where they asked about my experience. This was not a technical skills call. The hiring manager then told me she was going on vacation for 2 weeks and would get back to me after that. After she came back, they brought me onsite and had me meet the team and do some whiteboard questions. The initial scheduled called for 9 AM - 3 PM day, but the manager said she had some other meetings come up unexpectedly and the interview ended at noon.
I received an email from the recruiter in 2 days thanking me for the time but they were not moving forward with me.
Overall, I'm going to call this neutral. The recruiting side performed well, contacting me, setting up interviews and keeping me in the loop and being professional. The negative side was the shorter than expected interviewing day, and the end result. The team gave me pretty positive feedback at the end of the interview, but decided not to move forward and did not provide a reason.
One more thing to note. They've been using the exact same job description since they started posting developer positions in Spokane, but they're really looking for someone with front-end experience , XML and specifically XSLT.
