I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capitalize Consulting in Apr 2025
Interview
I had two interviews with Capitalize. The first was a positive experience and aligned well with my expectations — it was structured, engaging, and gave me a good sense of the role. The second interview, however, felt unstructured and left me uncertain about how that person’s role connected to the position I applied for. It seemed like they hadn’t reviewed my background, and I found myself leading most of the conversation.
After that, there was no follow-up for two weeks, so I reached out. I was told I would hear back soon, but another week passed before I was informed that the role had been offered to another candidate.
Overall, while the first conversation was promising, the process lacked clarity and communication in later stages, which made it difficult to fully assess the opportunity.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Capitalize Consulting (Toronto, ON) in Dec 2024
Interview
Interview went smoothly for the first 3 initial interviews, everyone was nice and easy to talk to. The final interview stage is an in person interview/presentation to be held in Dallas, Texas. The company would only compensate us for flying in and out the same day (which is very hectic) no hotel or overnight stay coverage. Things didn't work out and the plane didnt take off so they delayed our interview an entire month until they flew in someone from Dallas to Toronto. This Person (Jessica Thomas) was responsible for the presentation, very difficult person to talk to and interact with which put a lot of mental pressure on me as a candidate, showed no reaction and only asked loaded questions which were already a part of my presentation, claiming i went too fast she forgot some slides.

Do you think your presentation was good enough to show to a client who has no experience in this tool?

Interview
This was the most unprofessional interview that I've experienced in my career.
The person who interviewed me was unprepared. She had clearly never looked at my resume since when we went through the interview, she kept exclaiming in surprise about things listed - my career experience, my skills, my certifications, etc.
She commented on 2 of my federally protected characteristics and then violated my state's law by refusing to disclose the salary range and insisting I provide my number. After the interview, she ghosted me.
