The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Carlson, Brigance & Doering in Jan 2018
Interview
The interviewer seemed like a nice enough guy, but overall this was the most insulting interview process I have ever been through.
First, we exchanged emails and he told me that they wanted to hire someone on at $XX/hr and I asked if the pay was negotiable because I was currently making more than the advertised pay. I was told the pay was negotiable and I decided to set up the in person interview.
The in person interview was very laid back and informal but I was told that my AutoCAD skills where not good enough to make the current pay that I was actually being paid to work with AutoCAD. I didn’t take a proficiency test or anything during the interview, just from talking I was told I wasn’t good enough for the pay I wanted. The only reason I am looking is because I need better benefits.
Nonetheless, a week later I was offered the job at $2 less then what we had discussed they wanted to pay via email. In the end I was told I wasn’t good enough for the pay I wanted but was still offered the job at $8/hr less then what I was currently making.
Needless to say, I declined the offer. This company may be a great company, I can’t judge it on the actions of one person, but I have never been more insulted in a professional manner.
I applied online. I interviewed at Carlson, Brigance & Doering (Austin, TX) in Jan 2020
Interview
Very professional, the interviewer was very informed and prepared for the interview. Good conversation about opportunities within the company. The actual location of the office was the deal-breaker for me.
