Overall, my experience with the recruitment process was mixed.
The HR screening round was a positive experience. The HR representative was professional, courteous, and provided detailed information about the role, company culture, and expectations. Based on the discussion and my research, the company appeared to have a positive work environment.
However, my experience during the first technical interview was disappointing. The discussion seemed misaligned with the job description that had been shared with me. A significant portion of the questions focused on areas unrelated to my background and the requirements of the position I had applied for.
As a candidate, I believe interviews are most effective when the interview panel has a clear understanding of the role, the job description, and the candidate's relevant experience. This helps create a more meaningful evaluation process for both the company and the candidate.
My suggestion to the recruitment team would be to ensure that interviewers are properly briefed about the position, the expected skill set, and the candidate's background before conducting the interview. This alignment can significantly improve the candidate experience and lead to more effective hiring decisions.
While I appreciate the opportunity, the interview process did not align with my expectations for a role.
