Hands down the most hostile phone screening interview I have ever experienced. The interview was conducted my an HR Manager who was unable to answer even the most basic questions about the position, with her questions pretty much restricted to "where did you work, how long, and why did you leave?" for each of my past positions. When asked what my current salary is, I gave my standard response that I am ethically bound by a confidentially agreement with my employer to not share this information, and I inquired what salary range had been budgeted for the position. To my utter astonishment, the angry response was that there was no point in continuing the interview any further if I did not give a direct answer. Later in the interview she explained why I was not fit for the position, even though it was clear she had little understanding of the requirements, and then provided the salary range information I had earlier requested, which made her earlier hostile retort completely unnecessary. I now have an understanding why the last person who held this position, after 26 years at his previous employer, left Carus after only a year, and why the employees recently voted in a union.
