Submitted application online. Received invitation for recruiter call about a month later.
30-minute HM conversation and 45-minute technical screen. I wasn't very impressed with the depth and scope of either part.
The hiring screen was a standard walk-through of a previous ML project. I received high-level questions about the technical parts and a few behavioral questions.
For the technical screen, my interviewer couldn't understand the clarifying questions I asked and pushed me to start coding immediately (red flag). At several points, I paused to walk through my implementation and let the interviewer ask any questions as the interviewer seemed to have trouble following along. So we then ran through a test case to show that the solution worked, and briefly discussed some optimizations. This was another area where there should have been more discussion around ways to modify the solution to be more modular, performant, etc. The interviewer didn't seem interested in discussing any of these trade-offs.
In summary, the whole process felt like a waste of time given that there was no feedback. To add insult to injury, I was then completely ghosted by the recruiter afterward. Very unprofessional
