I applied through university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Caterpillar (Peoria, IL)
Interview
The interview will be completed by three current employees. Usually one is your boss, a fellow coworker and another manager that reports to the same general manager as your boss. The questions follow the SMART format, situation, measurable action, results and time. Each individual rates your score basically from a 1-5. After the interview, they make a consensus to determine what your overall score should be. Best overall score would either be offered the job or the top candidates might go through a second round interview.

1 round with a recruiter, 1 round on zoom, final round in person. Was a pretty painless experience and everyone was very friendly. Interviews can be a bit intimidating with 3-4 people, but was otherwise a pleasant experience.

Question 1
Q: Give an example of a time you had to solve a problem that was not in an area of strength for you.
I interviewed at Caterpillar (Charlotte, NC) in Sept 2024
Interview
I was told after 15 minutes that the interview was planned for only 30 minutes. Seems like the HM judges candidates without letting them introduce themselves. It was 30 minutes of red flags that this management team is impossible to work with. So strange they have openings!
