I applied through other source. I interviewed at Cedar
Interview
The interview process was pretty decent. The HR was very accomodative, and it was easy to communicate with them, they were very prompt in responses and giving information regarding the process.
The interview process consisted of 3 rounds: 1 HR, 1 pair programming session(standard easy leetcode question), and an onsite round. The onsite consisted of 5 or 6 interviews, 2 of which were technical. The technical rounds were centered around what they work on I guess, one was a debugging question and another round was for system design.
The technical interviews were not bad, however in the debugging round the interviewer asked me to handle the cases myself, and just checked in to see how I was doing. I felt this method was not the best as they cannot really judge me on what I know/how I approach problems if they are not even around to hear me out.
Otherwise fairly standard, decent process.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cedar (New York, NY) in Oct 2018
Interview
The process was: initial talk with hiring manager, to see if is good cultural fit. Then, I had 2 phone screens, with 2 different engineers.
After that would typically be onsite – but I because I wasn't able to come onsite, they gave me 3 interviews instead (1 coding, 1 systems design, and 1 behavioral with the VP of engineering). After that, they gave me a project, which was the same task I had talked over in the systems design part.
Overall, I was really impressed with the company, the team and the project. Everyone was super nice and helpful, the team was all skilled, and the product looks like it is set up for success. I decided it wasn't the right fit for me at the moment, because of some specific needs, but I hope to work with them in the future!
