I received a response from the recruiter after reaching out to him. Initially, my application for the position was declined, possibly due to the ATS system. The first interview with the recruiter was straightforward, covering the standard screening and 3-4 questions about customer challenges in the area. Because the position was technical-advisory oriented, insights and perspectives were a relevant part of the role. He was very welcoming, professional, and friendly. The conversation ran smoothly, and, as he had anticipated, I was invited to interview with the Hiring Manager within 1 business day. After rescheduling once, I had a 45-minute conversation with the Hiring Manager. I didn't feel comfortable with his approach, and by the end of the conversation, it was clear we would not move forward. I didn't align with his working style, and even though I was interested in the company, I didn't feel we were a good match for any of us in the virtual meeting. The same week I received the notification from the recruiter, I didn't move forward in the process.
