      Junior Copywriter Interview

      24 Oct 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Cement Marketing

      Interview

Applied via email per their posting. Was contacted by their HR contractor. Initial interview was over the phone and mostly rudimentary questions basically asking if I met the minimum requirements. Was contacted later for an in-person interview. Met with two of the head account people who asked a flurry of standard questions. Overall felt good about the experience. Was contacted a week later to have an in-person interview with the other copywriter. Again met with her and had a great conversation. Was contacted later that day by the HR contractor who said the other copywriter loved me and wanted to immediately move me to the next step which was a writing test. I waited over a week for the writing test to be sent to me but went ahead and completed it. Finally, after everything was sent I had to send several follow-ups to finally get an answer that they liked my materials but weren't 100% sure I was a good fit culturally. Overall, I enjoyed the process despite it being quite lengthy (about 2 months from my initial email till rejection). I guess my one complaint was if there was an issue with cultural fit why would they have me go through the writing test? Just left a bit of a sour taste.

      Junior Copywriter Interview

      4 Oct 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Cement Marketing

      Interview

Applied online via e-mail. Contacted by recruiter relatively quickly. Difficult to get a hold of her - understandable because she had to help hire for other companies, but seeing as Cement appeared to be a do-it-yourself kind of small agency that I was looking for, this really caught me off guard. Furthermore, I was told that my interview went well and she was going to discuss it with the company before proceeding. Promised she would contact me within whether or not it'd be positive. Called back a week after she'd say she'd call, left a message, no response. Called again a week later, left a message, no response. Entirely unprofessional.
