Interview
The hiring process was informal. The owner emailed a professor at my college asking for contacts with accounting students. I applied by responding to the forwarded email. Just the one interview. Office dress is casual. The place has a somewhat entrepreneurial feel to it, as is common for many small businesses. It helps to be connected with people the owner trusts.

Question 1
Although the owner was looking for a bookkeeper, the size of the business required some of the employees to wear multiple hats. I was asked whether I would be willing to help out with some marketing activities (especially chasing down customers who haven't used the services they called for). The question certainly was not a problem, but it was unexpected.
