      Interview

Character Strong is one of the worst companies I have ever interviewed for. First, they make you send an introduction video introducing yourself and explaining why you'd be a good fit before they will even look at your resume. If you make it past the first interview video, you will then go into a second interview where you will meet with the team. They ask you typical questions about yourself, why you're interested in the company, how you align with its values, and so on. After that, if they think that goes well, you will then get sent a take-home tech test that you get a week to complete. This take-home test is super vague in its description and what they truly want. Once that's complete, you set up your tech interview where they will just drill you with questions on your code and why you did what you did. I truly walked out of that interview feeling great—I put so much into my code, my design, etc. Now, we are in week 4 of waiting to hear back on any updates about the job and to see if I get the final interview to meet higher-ups. Finally, after a 4+ week process, I got an automated 'thank you for your time, unfortunately, we won't be moving forward' email. Mind you, every email in this whole process has not been personal; it has been pre-written with a name switch. I spent so much time and dedication on this company, and they couldn't even give me a follow-up email when I asked for feedback. They want so much from you, and they preach kindness but don't have the respect or kindness for people spending their time applying to their company. They ended up promoting an intern into the position they had open, so they truly just wasted my time and I'm sure many others. I would not recommend unless you have a month of your time free!
