The process seemed standard at first, I was contacted by a recruiter and after a conversation with them was set up for an interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager conversation went well and I was excited about the prospects of supporting their mission and that Checkr is very adoptive of current AI tools. One red flag that stood out was most of the team was located in different countries (Brazil, Chile). This is not bad in itself but it signals the companies desire to find avenues to outsource and cut costs. After the interview I was emailed and told congratulations with scheduling for the next step (technical round). The next morning the time slot for my technical interview was confirmed. A few hours later I was contacted by the original recruiter telling me the role had shifted and I was no longer being considered. The unprofessional aspect is the roller coaster of being scheduled for a follow up and no more than a few hours later hearing the role didn't exist.
