I applied in-person. I interviewed at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen (Irving, TX) in Jan 2015
Interview
It was pretty standard as far as the experience of a foodservice interview goes. Normal questions, quick departs from the manager to oversee various needs of employees and customers. I rated the overall interview interview process as positive solely because of the sampling of several full sized menu items. They let me take home all the extras too!
Traditional sit down style, lasted about 10 minutes. Manager was friendly, and seemed interested in me as a person and what I could bring to the team. Restaurant was fairly busy, so he was being pulled back and forth during my interview.

Pretty straight forward, it's cheesy but being yourself with extra charisma usually helps in serving show them that and you'll most likely be hired, If you're shy I'd recommend the old fake it to you make it you can definitely be shy and serve but it's easier if you have more flair
