There is not an interview process for a substitute position. However, a fingerprint clearance and a a full teaching certificate is required to substitute. Then your name goes into a system that supposedly calls randomly. It may have changed, but last year home room teachers could not 'pick' their subs. This is because there are a glut of credentialed teachers in the area willing to work for $78/day.
