Interview
30 minutes long, several questions, asked me if I had any questions. I was offered a position far below the average rate for this area and far below what I was making at my current job for the same type of work. With the cost of living in LA, paying off student loans and their requiring a degree, I was shocked and disappointed because I believe in the mission of CHLA and really wanted to work there. After reading other reviews on Glassdoor, I had second thoughts. I have over 20 years experience in this field, and it was like they were asking me to start over. I negotiated a higher rate, but it still wasn't what I could get elsewhere. I was then offered a job at another institution doing pretty much the same thing for about 3 times that salary. Its unfortunate, because I love Children's Hospital and think the doctors and nurses are great, and it would have been a great commute, but from my experience and the other comments I've read, they really need to look at their salary structure, especially if they're trying to find quality people to work with such a precious population.
