I went through a 4 phase interview process.
- 30 minute phone screen with technical recruiter, covering introducing the company and assessing culture fit
- 30 minute phone screen with a director level lead. Some lightweight technical probing (both ways) as well as culture fit
- 3+ hour "coding challenge" (homework assignment) working through and end to end deployment of a trivial web app
- 3.5 hour on-site interviews - 3 sessions meeting with a pair of team members each session. One of the sessions was highly technical, the others more concerned with compatibility.
Everyone I talked to or met in the whole process came across very favorably. The recruiting team members were extremely attentive and accommodating as they guided me through the whole process. The engineering team members were all very warm and welcoming. They take culture very seriously at ChowNow and I was won over by it.
