      Engineer Interview

      2 Aug 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Cirrus Aircraft

      Interview

Typical HR phone screen to start, followed by a video call with several folks from the engineering team. Standard questions about technical experience, no challenging problem solving or anything. Communication was very poor all throughout the interview and onboarding process, essentially radio silence from the recruiter up until ~2 weeks prior to planned start date, even after I reached out multiple times. Automated HR emails were sent to me with incorrect information, nobody responded when I asked what was going on with that. Overall, they don't seem to have it together on the administrative side; I was given conflicting directions for things like where to go for my first day orientation, went to one building, they said "no drive around the airport to the other building" I got there and they said "no you were at the right building before". Security badge for accessing the building did not work, took an executive-level employee to send out an email to get it addressed, Admin messaged me "hey can you drive 15 minutes over here to get a new badge, I gave you one that was duplicated by accident" Their facility and airplanes are cool though, and so far my immediate working team seems cool. Beware of HR and Administrative people, they have their heads in the clouds it seems.

      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I interviewed at Cirrus Aircraft (Duluth, MN)

      Interview

Smooth. Interview was more of a formality and tour. Met with entire team and had to answer questions on the fly. Overall I’d say it was a good blend of formal and informal.

      Application

      I interviewed at Cirrus Aircraft

      Interview

Screening phone call, Teams meeting, and an in-person interview to meet the team. Focused more on going over past experience rather than drilling questions left and right. The whole process was maybe 3 weeks from the first call to the offer.
