      Change Management Program Manager Interview

      3 Apr 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Jose, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cisco (San Jose, CA) in Mar 2012

      Interview

Applied on the web site and was contacted by a seemingly nice woman - Mid-level Management, not an HR Rep. We chatted for an hour and she stated her interest to have me come to San Jose for an interview. My work commitments kept me busy for the next week, so I suggested speaking with a few team members to get things rolling. I spoke with 5 people total. Everyone said they felt positive about my candidacy. After the last interview I received only a thanks but no thanks. I have no idea why I was turned down, seemingly out of the blue. No feedback, despite direct request. The last interview was a bit off. The woman thought I was new to change management. If my resume had the term on it once, it was there 10 times. Also, it was difficult to figure out the organizational structure since 2 or more people said they were Program Managers. It was not until the last interview that I heard the name of the program meant to develop internal collaboration skills for customer service engineers. Ironically Cisco was presenting the success of this program at at the Gartner Customer 360 conference. I feel Cisco was rude, disrespectful of my time & commitment. I will remember the experience each time I hear the name Cisco.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Interview questions were basic- - tell me about your change management experience. I got the impression this group did not hire from outside much.
