I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Citizen Schools in Oct 2022
Interview
After submitting my application, I was asked to share a writing sample. Within a few days, I had a Zoom interview with a member of the talent team; it was, without a doubt, one of my favorite interviews I have ever had. It felt much more like a conversation than an interview. She absolutely sold the organization for me.
Within two weeks, I had another Zoom interview with the philanthropy team, which was also a positive experience. Both interviews included more traditional questions about experiences and skills. I do not recall any particular curveballs questions.
While I was not offered the role I applied for, I was asked about my interest in another position they had available. I very much appreciated their interest in my candidacy to consider me for an alternative opportunity. Unfortunately, I passed on proceeding with the second opportunity because it did not feel like the right fit for me. I have nothing but positive things to say and think about the organization and the individuals I met.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Questions about interest in the role and organization, prioritizing, project management, writing, etc. Nothing too difficult if you prepare.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Citizen Schools (New York, NY) in Apr 2019
Interview
Phone interview with recruiter, followed by phone interview with manager, then a PowerPoint presentation and final interview in-person with two directors.
The presentation exercise was free labor. The prompt directly requested that I perform prospect research for the development team.
After the final interview, I heard nothing and the position was removed from the website.

Question 1
What are some corporate partner prospects you think would be a good fit for Citizen Schools?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Citizen Schools (Boston, MA) in Jun 2016
Interview
Interviewed by phone, in Boston, and at location state. It was relatively clear process. The recruiter helped on all ends. It was though cumbersome, I found, for lower level roles, where extensive presentations (free labor) was required for applicants--no matter how significant their track record--and they faced more delays on responses.

Question 1
Most questions were conversational and appropriate. It was great getting to know the community.
