I found out about a job opening through Craigslist.com. The ad instructed me to show up at the recruiting office by such-and-such a time. I showed up and was handed an application. After filling it out, I chatted with the recruiter. I emphasized my strengths, especially my years of experience with handling cash. I remained positive and upbeat. After barely looking my application over and asking me a couple questions, the recruiter sent me into the inner office for an interview with her co-worker.
I beat the interviewer to the first question by asking, "How's your day going?" He brightened instantly! This question started my interview off on the right foot. (It was very important to ask this, because the interviewer had been disgusted with the previous interviewee, who suffered from a severe lack of motivation.)
After answering that his day was a rather long one, the interview began. He asked me a very few questions, including, "Why do you want this job?" I remained upbeat and focused on my strengths. In less than five minutes, I was hired full time!
