I applied online for an executive position and quickly received a response. A phone screening was scheduled, followed by a video interview with members from the team I would be leading if hired. Both, I felt, went well and afterwards I was asked to come into the office for an in-person interview with another member of the C-suite team. However, it was cancelled at the last minute until the following week (I was told due to scheduling conflicts) with a promise that they would follow-up to reschedule. When I didn't hear back after a couple days, I called and emailed a few times to reschedule and never received a response. About two months later, I received a short email letting me know I wasn't selected for the position.
Undoubtedly, for an executive position, competition was high and I don't mind if I wasn't the right fit. But after a couple good conversations and their request for an in-person interview, only to then be completely ghosted without explanation left a poor impression or the organization.
