I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at City Year in Apr 2013
Interview
Phone interview in addition to a thorough written interview including critical thinking questions. The phone interview incorporated questions about working with young people, previous work involving leadership, and how you work with leadership. The interview was about 30 minutes long. If you pass the recruiter interview, there's a second one that's more about the job and individual expectations. You'll get questions about your comfortability around culture and working in a highly fluctuating environment.
Very simple. Quick virtual interview and pretty simple questions. Research their values and what not and you should be good to go. As far as I remember it was a single interview and decision is relatively soon after that.
Really friendly and welcoming. Try to make it as comfortable as possible and share about the work they do. They want to ensure applicants are making the right decisions and that they assess the values.
