I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Clearground (Wirral, England) in May 2025
Interview
Ghosted after positive interview — then saw someone else hired on LinkedIn
Pros:
The role appeared well-aligned to my experience, with genuine potential to contribute to growth
The initial interview was friendly and suggested mutual interest
Business is in a position to expand if managed properly
Cons:
Despite being told after interview that they were keen to progress to a second stage, I received no further communication whatsoever
Weeks later, I discovered via LinkedIn that someone else had been hired — and publicly celebrated by an external consultant
This complete lack of courtesy, feedback or closure felt not only unprofessional but humiliating
For a company that claims to value integrity and teamwork, this experience showed neither
Raises serious concerns about how they treat people, both internally and externally
Advice to Management:
If a candidate invests time preparing and engaging with your process, have the basic decency to let them know the outcome — especially when you tell them you're progressing them. Publicly announcing someone else’s success while ghosting others reflects poorly on your leadership and damages your brand. A respectful “no” is far better than silence and embarrassment.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
A third-party consultant involved in the process asked irrelevant and personal questions — including about his own garden — which made the process feel unprofessional and unserious
