I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Climatiq in Mar 2025
Interview
The recruitment process at Climatiq was thorough, engaging, and professionally conducted. It consisted of four main stages: an initial high-level conversation with the CTO, two technical interviews (one focused on machine learning methodologies and another to discuss a take-home technical challenge), and a final discussion involving product management and logistics around employment conditions. Additionally, there was a brief conversation dedicated specifically to discussing contract details, compensation, and benefits.
Interview questions were insightful and relevant, focusing on both practical and theoretical aspects of machine learning, NLP, and information retrieval.
Overall, I found everyone I spoke with to be very friendly, knowledgeable, and transparent. The interviews felt conversational rather than interrogative, which created a comfortable atmosphere. Communication throughout the process was prompt and clear, with feedback provided regularly after each stage.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Climatiq in Apr 2025
Interview
The turnaround from application to the first interview was impressively fast. The interview process consisted of four rounds in total - three conducted virtually and one in-person at the office, offering a great opportunity to meet the team. Incredibly transparent process with feedback provided after each stage, and the interviews were highly practical, focusing on my background, skills, and genuine interest in the role and the climate tech space. While the intervals between stages were longer than expected, it’s clear the team is committed to making thoughtful hiring decisions. Given that, a bit of patience is completely understandable, and well worth it.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about my learning process since this is a rather technical product + there is a requirement to learn about the carbon accounting space which involves a steep learning curve.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Climatiq (Berlin) in May 2025
Interview
The process was very fast, and I felt like I was really able to get an understanding of the company, the founders and the wider team.
I spoke to Hessam online, and because I'm in Berlin he invited me to the office to have lunch and meet the team as part of the process. The Friday Thai food market next to the office wasn't the only factor in my decision to join Climatiq, but it didn't hurt!
After further calls with key team members who work remotely, I put together a list of key priorities for my department and a short video. A lot of that work fed through to my early priorities in the role, so it definitely felt like an important part of the process rather than a pointless exercise. I also felt like the team focussed much more on my thought process and principles rather than looking for specific domain knowledge.
