I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cognizant (Calcutta) in Mar 2016
Interview
The interview process started from 11 am whereas we were asked to reach the place by 9 am. All our documents were submitted for verification & based on the submission we were called for GD, each group had 10-12 members. We were asked to talk about the given topic & almost everyone had spoken about it. But only 2 of us were selected, me & another girl. & about 40-50 people were selected from GD out of 120 or more. Then there was a Technical Round where the interviewer asked about my College project, Linked List, some basic computer algorithm. I was selected. & then there was 3 HR rounds (I've never seen so many HR interview rounds).
Anyways the process took 1 day & I was selected. My advice will be be confident & always keep a smiling face.

I applied online. I interviewed at Cognizant in Nov 2017
Interview
I applied for engineer trainee position. There were nearly 4 rounds, all for checking your communication skills. At the venue, they were checking all documents including the degree certificate. Those who didn't possess degree certificate were not allowed for interview. 1st round was GD followed by Accent Checking round and then Hr rounds. GD consisted of group of 15 candidates out of which 6-7 were selected. Overall it was a interview because technical skills were not even considered once.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cognizant (Pune) in Nov 2017
Interview
I was thought AMCAT. Firstly there was a GD (you need to show your communication skills, thought process and fluency). GD was of 15 people and everyone was given fair chance. After GD it was Technical PI. They just wanted to know basics. So make your Networking, Programming and DBMS basics strong. It was for about 20 mins. Initially there were only two rounds (GD and Technical), but they declare one more round ie. communication round (just a rapid fire game or else they'll give a word and you need to explain what that word means to you) that will be one on one! Mine was difference b/w a) talent and skill and b) job and a career.

Question 1
In technical round the guy asked me about the last years subjects. I didn't remember though I cleared the round as he was just checking that how I'll react in such situations.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cognizant (Bengaluru) in Oct 2017
Interview
At Bangalore Manyata tech park office. Called through AMCAT test. They call everyone for this company. They were more than 200 people for interview but in the first round of 30 batch each they selected only 6 each. It is usually GD, but asked to speak on random topic and the selection made by that evaluator was also random. he had the least interest in the process and didnt give a chance to some people who spoke well. Just selected some guy because he told that is he was German citizen and a few others randomly without seeing if they communicated properly. he already came will a mindset to just eliminate almost everyone in these rounds. Technical round was also very dull and was asked to tell what you know about computer.. Exactly same question.
Its better to avoid these mass recruiting companies (and choose if there is no other choice) like Cognizant, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wirpo and Infosys - is already out of the list.
In the order of preference to companies:
1. Accenture
2. Cognizant
