I had very bad experience doing interviews with Cognizant!
Last year(December 15), a recruiter reached out to me asking for my availability for a phone interview with a hiring manager from cognizant, the recruiter wanted to move fast so we scheduled the interview in the next day, I did fantastic interview over the phone with the hiring manager and local recruiter in the Irving TX area..it was a straightforward typical screening, they asked about my previous experience, java basics like Abstraction, java 8 streaming, Spring Boot.
Everything went very well, the recruiter contacted me same day asking for onsite interview with the team over there in Irving.. I was surprised how fast these guys moving! Few days later I went to the site interview, it was a 3 hours free style meeting, discussion and pair programming with a senior level software engineer, they gave me spring boot web application that has ready code for UI and a Controller, then they asked me to fix a defect in the code then write JUNIT test to cover the controller...with some help from the interviewer I was able to solve the problem..
Next stage was a white board style discussion with a senior Architect..he asked about API restful services and many other technologies related to web services..overall, it was good interview (no code smart or algorithms).
Next Day, the recruiter contacted me saying the team liked me and wanted to move forward with offer, and that was the last thing I heard from him!
I sent many emails following up with no luck! After 2 weeks the recruiter email got disabled! when I send email it says this email is invalid! I tried to call him but no luck!
I was very disappointed about the way Cognizant treated me, no follow up at all! I even tried to call the HR to report my experience with that recruiter but even that didn't go anywhere! this company has no respect to their candidates.
Just wanted to give you my feedback so at least you guys aware of this unacceptable behavior..
