I received red flags from the start and should've listened but I wanted to give Coinbase a chance, as nothing seemed organized and everything seemed like a last-second thought. When they scheduled my virtual interview, they did not provide me a method (zoom? teams?) or a link to access their meeting in any way until I prompted them for it.
I had 30 minutes with the hiring manager, and during our interview, which I "arrived" for early, she continued to work and never gave me 100% of her attention. I explained my experience level (5+ years in my field and 8+ in the tech industry), and I felt like I was competing with whatever she was working on. If I am giving you 100% of my time and focus, should you not do the same?
Almost a month after our interview I was informed she was looking for someone with more program management experience; yet I had explained how I solely and successfully managed 4+ separate programs. If you don't want to hire people, that's fine, but give a legitimate reason if you're going to provide feedback. This hiring manager clearly was not paying attention and did not give me the time and attention all applicants deserve.
