Unrealistic expectations. Unorganized interview team.
First call was with the Recruiter. Standard qualifications questions.
Second interview was with the hiring manager, Sarah, also standard questions around sales process and experience.
Third interview was a Mock Discovery and Sales Demo call. Prompt was shared for how the call would go. No slide deck was provided (learned later it was suppose to have been), I had to create my own. One member of the hiring team did not show, Dir of Sales Engineering. Presentation was only for 1 person, the hiring manager.
Fourth Interview was added for the Dir of Sales Engineering to get an intro. He didn't come prepared with any questions. Said it wasn't a formal interview, just a chance to ask him questions. Fine.
Fifth interview was with CEO. Just like fourth interview no questions were prepared, was told it was an informal chat.
Very disappointing experience. If more members of the hiring team would show up for the presentation interview there would be no need to schedule additional conversations. Also, to state the conversation is informal or not a standard interview you set expectations that there is no right or wrong answers, questions, or areas of the company to explore.
Come prepared. Show up for interviews. Make sure candidates have all resources available for presentations.
