I was asked a technical question to debug some React code. On spending time exploring the problem space, I started getting negative signals from the interviewer. Explained that I was spending time to understand problem space so I could do better, but I guess it didn't help.
Respect to the team, and I'm sure everyone is extremely talented - but I request them to place more senior devs as interviewers - who actually empathise with how other people think.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Cord (London) in Jul 2023
Interview
I had an initial call with their recruiter. After a lengthy conversation, they said they were happy to invite me to the following stage of the process. A few days later they sent me a rejection email with no further feedback.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
General first recruiter call questions about past experience and expectations.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Cord (London) in Jun 2022
Interview
Applied directly. I was known to the CEO before. 1) Take-home challenge (3-4 hours), 2) Technical interview with test, 3) Conversation with other team members, 4) Conversation with CEO/CTO. 5) Offer.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
The take-home challenge consisted in solving a non-trivial matrix-based problem. The company estimates it takes 3-4 hours to complete.
The technical interview consisted in a skills review, plus coding exercise. The coding exercise asked for the minimum of the last N read integers in a sequential infinite array.
Hi! Unfortunately, I think you are likely mistaking us for another company called Cord in London (perhaps cord.co or cord.tech). We do not use take-home challenges, don't ask these questions in interviews, and this isn't our interviewing process.
I'm sorry you've had a negative experience and hopefully by reporting this to the correct company they can adjust. We'd be very happy for you to apply and witness our process if you like, at https://cord.com/jobs/
