I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Corvus Insurance in Aug 2021
Interview
HR communication was superb, absolutely out of this world.
Right from the start, it was clear that every single interview was focused on getting to know me (the candidate) better. After applying, below is the process that I went through:
1st round: HR screen (30 minutes) - dedicated last 10 minutes for questions
2nd round: Hiring Manager (30 minutes) - dedicated last 10 minutes for questions.
3rd round: Technical Interview (60 minutes) - two Corvus SW engineers - extremely polite, non 'grilling' questions, cared about my thought process and not syntax. Dedicated last 10 minutes for any questions I had. (Tech Q: given prompt X, write a function, we don't care about syntax, we don't care if it compiles, we just want to see your thought process and how you approach and ultimately write the function).
Final Series:
4th round: (60 minutes) - with same Hiring Manager and Engineering Manager
5th round: (60 minutes) - "Technical Interview #2", with senior engineer/DS manager. (Same Tech Q 'process' as above 3rd round, x2 questions)
Every interview was focused on my past experiences, how I approached problems, how I thought through problems, and my engineering best practices. Compared to other interviews I went through, it seemed that every single Corvus interviewer actually cared about getting to know me better, which cannot be said about all interviews.
Every Corvus employee made me feel comfortable and left ample enough time for me to ask questions at the end. They all made me feel welcome, and they all seemed overjoyed talking to me, which only amplified my interest and passion in Corvus as a potential future employee. It was simply put the best process I've ever gone through (when the employees care about future potential coworkers, it creates a stronger desire to work for that employer).
