I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Country Delight (Hyderābād) in Jan 2024
Interview
Super weird process. 3 rounds: 1 exploratory call + 1 technical round + 1 cto round.
Expo call: Mostly about your background, tech stack etc,.
CTO round: Mostly discussion about previous projects + couple of coding questions + general fitment.
Technical round: This one lasted for about 25 mins. Interviewer seemed to be in extreme hurry. Guy came on the call, asked some random system design question, kept hopping between sql, java and a few other things. Then gave a coding question and asked me to come up with an optimised approach. When I eventually came up with the best approach, he accused me of cheating and left the call lol.
I didn't follow up with them after this as I didn't want to work with such weird messed up engineers. They didn't get back to me either so I guess I was rejected. Anyways, a couple of days later I got a job offer from an amazing company and accepted it. So it worked out for me in the end, good riddance I guess?
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Country Delight
Interview
I got interviewed at Country delight through a third party. There were total of three rounds.
1. With Tech Lead
2. With Senior Technology VP
3. With Cofounder
I cleared all three rounds and then I received a call from their Tech Lead, he said you have to work at pace, which I understand that it is a startup, working at pace is required.
But then he began to tell me that you have to come to the office even on Saturday and Sunday.
I asked him, this must be in some cases when something goes wrong with the product and this might happens rarely right?
To which, he answered that this will happen very frequently, almost every weekend and you have to complete the work anyhow.
He also added that you might be required to work even at night very frequently.
So basically they want someone who works 24*7 for them, this is the sort of company that wants to exploit employee's rights.
They need to understand they are giving a job with their organization, they have not purchased the employee.
Anyway, I want to thank their Tech Lead for telling me this straight away before joining the company. But would have been better If they have told me before the interview process or in the first interview. I would have saved mine and their time.
Join this company only when you want to work 24*7 because they are going to make your life hell.
