Interview
Most important was sending in a writing sample and passing a written exam they send you. They send you a court case where you are asked to follow guidelines and give a condensed summary.

Interview
The interviewer wasted my time. He gave me a lot of time and attention when it turned out that they already had another candidate they were interested in. I wish he hadn't acted so interested in me. It just got my hopes up about something I didn't have a good chance at.

Question 1
Very casual interview. Not that many questions. Not a bad thing, though, of course.
I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Courthouse News (Fresno, CA) in Apr 2017
Interview
I interviewed with an editor from the region and with the person I am subbing for. Currently still training. Hoping I will still be able to sub with another job. I will note, if you you interview as a sub, you will at the most get about a month's worth of work per year. This combined with maintaining availability and openness to work with any other schedule may be difficult. My advice to the company would be to offer subs well more hours to make it something they can stick with.
