The first stage was what you would expect from a call with an internal recruiter. She was very friendly, asked good questions about my experience and then provided good information about the role/next stages. She was knowledgeable about the company, team structure, role, etc. She answered all my questions well.
The second stage was a different story. The two programme managers were pleasant enough but the interview was transactional and lacked personal touch. They had a set of 15 questions to go through. There was little response to any of my answers, some nods and smiles here and there but no follow up questions, no clarifications, almost as if they were just following a script to take notes. Even providing relatively concise answers this section took 55 minutes so I was left with 5 minutes to ask questions (they stayed on for 5 extra minutes). I was left feeling they were interviewing me and there was no space for me to interview them.
I was provided feedback on the same day. I was unsuccessful so I didn't get to do the final stage which I was told would have been a Zoom call with the Hiring Manager and another Senior Manager. This would have been a two part interview - part one: role play of a kick of meeting (you are given a scenario to prepare ahead of the interview); part 2: Q&A.
