Very unprofessional. I initially applied for a consulting internship position and got a Hirevue. Didn't hear anything for a while, so I just assumed I didn't get the position.
I got an email from a totally separate recruiter 2 months later that said they stumbled across the info I submitted for the previous interview and asked if I'd be interested in a different position. I said sure. Recruiter said I didn't have to take any further action, and that she was still in the process of considering applicants, so she'd let me know if we could move forward. A few weeks later, I get an automated rejection email.
Umm, why individually reach out to someone asking if they'd be interested in a position, only to not interview them at all and then auto reject them? That's pretty slimy in my book. Maybe it’s a good thing they never followed through- I don’t know if I’d enjoy working for a company that treats its applicants with such disrespect.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why did you apply for the specific position you chose?
I applied through university. I interviewed at Crowe LLP (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2026
Interview
The process was very straightforward and professional. It consisted of a virtual meeting with a recruiter followed by an interview with a Manager/Partner. Both asked personality questions, and we talked about my resume.
It was 20 minute interview over zoom. Go over resume and they ask you questions about your projects. Questions were leadership and discipline based. They want people who are hard working and your first impression should reflect that.

Question 1
Explain a difficult concept to someone who is not technical
It began with a screening process with a recruiter, then a 20-30 minute interview with a partner. The interview was pretty laid back and more conversational. My entire interview process was virtual.
