I applied online. I interviewed at Crystal Automotive
Interview
The interview process consisted of an in-person meeting followed by personality and aptitude (IQ) testing. The personality quiz was uniquely bad - filled with repetitive, vague, and loaded questions. Something like the MBTI personality quiz would have been much more appropriate. They told me they would contact me in a couple days - which turned into over a week of waiting as they ignored repeated attempts to contact. Overall, this company had the most incompetent hiring process that I encountered during my job search.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Crystal Automotive (Homosassa Springs, FL) in May 2018
Interview
Applied on line, followed with a phone screen, I am overqualified for the position so there was much hesitation. I was invited to drive up to a headquarters of sorts a great distance from where I live.
I gassed up, brought a snack made sure I had water and made the trek.
Recruiter was more interested in the fact I was over qualified and would leave rather than discussing pay or growth. People come and go in the business experienced or not, but what ever. From there I was instructed to stop off at the actual dealership some miles south, I drove, met with the prospective manger actually REALLY liked everyone, and they seemed equally as smitten. Basically hired on the spot, contingent on some more hoops. The pay specifics would not be disclosed until I came back in and completed some testing. I drove home, and drove back the next morning, completed personality, math, algebra, English, logic tests.
Many days later the original recruiter called to say all was well with my background and tests and to come back up, to discuss pay. I road tripped back up sat with the same recruiter to negotiate pay. Apparently pay was handled by the owner who was conveniently not available, I was sent for a drug test every further north. I completed all my new hire paperwork. The only missing pieces of the equation were pay!
Few days later said recruiter called to say they were not interested.
They only thing I accomplish was about 200 miles on my leased car, lots of boys club indecisive antics, and a waste of energy.
