      Senior DevOps Engineer Interview

      6 Feb 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Diego, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Cubic (San Diego, CA) in Jan 2019

      Interview

Scheduled initial phone call interview, I scheduled time to step out of my office for the call. The director called 10 minutes late, no apology. Just excuse he had back to back interviews scheduled. Sounded stressed and was not organized. He asked basic questions of Jenkins but didn't sound like he had much knowledge of the product. Entire interview he sounded unprepared. He wanted me to have a another phone interview which I questioned ( I already had a 2nd interview with another manager scheduled the following day). I asked how many phone screens before on site interview? He responded with question, how many I thought was sufficient.. I replied 2. Note, the entire time he asked all the questions.. never did he ask what I was looking to do or how can I contribute. He replied; okay thanks and hung up. Next thing I hear, 2nd interview was cancelled. Which is OK. TO EMPLOYERS, the door opens both ways. Your not just interviewing prospective employees, they are also interviewing YOU! The market is HOT and plenty of good employers to work for in SD. Based on bad interview and stress level of the call, I wouldn't work there or ever recommend anyone.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Generic Questions on background and experience. Questions on Jenkins and if I used it. He wanted me to tell him which screens he can go to for configuration, etc.
